P7 Open Day
We’re excited to welcome Primary 7 pupils and their families to our P7 Open Evening this October. Come and experience “A Day in the Life of S1,” explore a variety of learning environments, and tour the school with our pupil guides, who will be on hand to answer questions. A QR code will also be available on the night for any follow-up queries.

Presentation from open evening
What to expect
Insight into our vision for learning, teaching and inclusion, and how we support every young person to thrive.
Guided tours showcasing classrooms, specialist spaces and examples of active learning.
An overview of the S1 learning experience, including timetabled classes, curriculum events and our rich extra-curricular offer.
Meet the S1 Team
You’ll have the chance to meet key staff who support S1: Caroline Bannon (DHT/Year Head), Christopher Aitken (Pupil Support Leader), Eve Lovell (Wider Achievement), and Hannah McGregor (Transition Teacher).
Beyond the classroom
Extra-curricular clubs help pupils connect with staff and older learners.
Weekly “School Of…” electives give pupils choice across areas such as Textiles, Reading & the Library, Basketball, Swimming, and Classics & Myths. Pupils make two choices across the year.
Trips and events (e.g. S1 Halloween Disco, Friday Fun Day, February event and Activities Week) build confidence and community.
Transition programme
Our transition work is coordinated with partner primaries. Information is shared via primary schools; visits and programmes build on previous contacts, and families will be invited to an information evening prior to the three-day P7 visit.
Staying in touch
We keep families informed through our weekly Snippets newsletter, DYW bulletin, Learning Planner, monthly Headteacher surgery (virtual), and our Facebook page.
