S3 Curricular D of E Bronze

This programme offers the D of E Bronze Award to S3s who might find the commitment and organisation of D of E as an extracurricular activity too much.

This allows them the opportunity to achieve the D of E Bronze award through continued staff support and organised activities, enabling success and achievement.

During the S3 year, we will take time to work together to build strong team working skills, look at our personal skills and recognise our strengths and how we can work well together.  D of E consists of 4 sections: Skill, Volunteering, Physical and the Expedition. We support you as a group through the Skill and Volunteering sections. We will train you to be able to compete the expedition element of the award, through building your confidence with map work, camp craft, first aid and knowledge of the kit we need. You will complete a number of walks where you are building your confidence as a group, which will lead towards two expeditions, a practice and a final expedition.  

During these, you will be fully self-reliant and experience the enjoyment of adventure with your team.
