Course Description
What is this course about?
This course involves you developing industry and creative learning skills to develop knowledge in the array of career opportunities through Art & Design and Technologies within Construction Industry pathways. Through collaborative design processes, you will reimagine the space of a local building by working with local employers and partners, including architects, Historic Environment Scotland, interior designers and local council planning departments. Scotland’s Home of the Year designer Anna Campbell Jones is an ambassador for the course.
You will learn from industry experts who have experience working within construction and built environments. There is a demand for skilled workers within new construction and restoration projects, offering good job prospects and earning potential.
What qualifications will I gain?
During this course you will complete a creative ‘Reimagining Spaces’ project. Successful completion of this course will result in you obtaining a qualification in Skills for Work: Creative Industries National 5 (SCQF level 5).
Where can it take me?
The construction industry and built environment sector encompasses a range of different pathways and potential roles. These include construction management, civil engineering, architecture, interior design and apprenticeships. Further courses for these pathways are offered at school or in higher education settings.
